Surely got to be a better punt then the other strikers we are being linked with. What are your thoughts ?

Mr Anon and Scraper - I am obliged.

However, I have spent more than a decade making posts on the internet, and thus far I have trusted the reader to discern the 'core' of my posts, as I do theirs. I doubt the utility of this development.

Silly meme, then. As expected.

Re: Michu
I think you have to look at the reason why someone stopped performing before you totally dismiss them. With Saldado who had an amazing record in Spain because he always played with another striker. At Spurs they play with just 1 and he was just not suited to it.

Some strikers are just goal hanging ones who don't work ridiculously hard but if you put them in the right formation they work well. The way modern football is in the prem where everyone wants to pack out the midfield and sacrifice a striker has meant there's just a lack of good strikers around. Everyone wants that 1 big man that does it all.

With Michu if he can't last 90 minutes then there's no point. I think this league is all about fitness nowadays. You win because you can keep up the intensity and other teams can't. If he is fit I don't see why not try him on a pay as you play. Would be nice to have 2 big forwards on the pitch sometimes.

Michu has hardly played a game for 2 years . No way we should consider him

Re: Michu
Villareal just paid Spurs a reported £10m for a player that "used to be good" 2 goals in 2 games and 2 assists last night.

That after a nightmare time at Spurs. Sometimes careers dip and clubs don't suit players and players don't suit clubs.

At least with someone like Michu you know the premier league is somewhere he can perform. He'd be a gamble but not as much as some other players. It's his ankle that's potentially the biggest issue.

Re: Michu
Why not ?? did well in his first year at Swansea,
spent most of last season injured somewhere else so he should fit in nicely.

Re: Michu
He hasn't scored goals for years. This is another thing I see quite often on here, buying a player because he USE to be good. Very dangerous that.

Still, each to his won.

Re: Michu
We have a £7million budget, we need a striker, midfielder and winger. There is no midfielder available on a free with a better goal scoring record. That's why it makes sense, on low wages and if it doesn't work we can replace him next season

Re: Michu
I really dislike this theory I see banded around on her sthat it's worth signing a player just becaause they are an improvement on a shit footballer. That's just mental IMO. Nolan couldn't even run anymmore, so anyone is an 'improvement' on him.

Don't you think it's better to peru se alternatives first?

Re: Michu
I think it's worth a shout. We severely lack goals from midfield and I think he would play well off Carroll when he is fit. Maybe like a Nolan of 4 years ago, if the wages are right it's definitely an improvement on Nolan for free

Why don't the Yanks refer to it as the "poundtag", given that they have always referred to "#" as the "pound sign"?
